Take my advice… I would NOT recommend this method of arriving as a walk-in, unless you camp out there over night in your vehicle. Also, the worker there told us that they are very often understaffed, and rarely take in 10 walk-in’s, and that it’s usually only about 5 that they take in. After the whole 3 to 5 hour experience of waiting in the car…when we were there on Thursday and Friday, there ended up being a lot fewer vehicles on Friday than on Thursday. They say Tuesdays, and Thursdays are less busy. This time we got there at 3:30 a.m! And there were already 10 cars in a line ahead of us! Again, we did not get in that day either. They accepted 5 walk-in’s that day, so we did not get in.

We arrived at 5:30 a.m on a Thursday, and there were already about 25 vehicles sitting in line waiting for the DVS to open! They begin checking vehicles in at about 7 a.m. They open at 8 a.m, and can only accept up to 10 walk-in’s (but we have now learned that it’s pretty typical that they only accept up to 6 or 8). And I’m sharing all of this with you, because I wish WE had known all of this before our experience of trying 2 mornings in a row. But, be aware my friend!! this is NOT as easy as it sounds. If you are trying to take your test, without making an appointment, Plymouth DVS does accept walk-in’s.
